Pandapuding
The first one on this list is Pandapuding or Pandupuding, a hidden gem of Khunti, the nearby district from Ranchi. This tourist location is situated 77 km from Ranchi near Tapkara.
There are two ways to get there. The first one is via Torpa and the other one is Via Khunti town. Both roads are in good condition and almost the same in the distance so you can choose one as per your choice.
The natural sunrise and sunset point of this location is the main attraction of this tourist place. However, it’s just gaining popularity among tourists and was hidden due to different circumstances in the past.
That’s why you cannot expect many facilities here.
This place is surrounded by forests, mountains, and a healthy environment suitable for tourists. Actually, it is a small waterfall along with send all over there, which is great for water activities.
Once you come to Pandapuding your soul will not allow you to return. That’s the beauty of this hidden gem of the Khunti district.
The waterfall of Pandapuding is situated on Karo River, one of the most famous rivers in the Southern region of Jharkhand. The gurgling sound of river, sand, white stones, and the green surrounding makes it a mesmerising experience for us in Pandapuding.
So, if you are planning a trip near Ranchi, this one is my first recommendation.
Remix Falls
I visited Remix Falls 2 times in the last year. This hidden waterfall is situated 10 km from Dassam Falls on Ranchi-Tata Road.
Actually, it is the sub-fall of Dassam Falls, not very much in height. But the surroundings are like heaven. There are sands all over there and the water depth is up to knee height.
The water is clear and transparent enough to see the tiny fish swimming inside. If you ask me the top 4 picnic spots in Ranchi I will definitely suggest Remix Falls.
This waterfall was recently discovered by the local Youtubers and became famous. You come here in the new year, you may stuck in a traffic jam.
Thousands of people come here for outings from Ranchi and nearby cities.
The clear water of the Kanchi River and the sand field all over there make it one of the best picnic spots for you.
To reach Remix Falls you have to head on to Ranchi Tata Road and then turn right before the toll gate. The road to Dassam Falls is good in condition, but after that, you may face jerkings on the road to the Remix Falls.
On the road to remix fall, you will also see a viewpoint to Dassm Falls where you can enjoy the panoramic view of the surrounding landscape.
Horab Jungle: Tatisilwai
Horab Jungle or Horab Forest is located near Tatisilwai. It is 10 km from Tatisilwai’s main market.
Horab Jungle is one of the oldest picnic spots in Ranchi and local tourists, often go there to enjoy some precious moments with nature.
Although there are no waterfalls in Horab Jungle, you will find a beautiful panoramic view of the Jungle and mountains.
Well, if you go down, you will see a small waterfall-like area where you can enjoy some moments with nature.
Horab Jungle is very close to Ranchi city, so many people go there for picnics and outings. But watchers can also go there because, in the winter season, many species are migrating to this Jungle from different areas of the world.
If you love to spend your time with nature, then Horab Jungle is one of the beautiful locations to visit in Ranchi.
Note: Beware of Elephants as they are common in this region.
Mini Goa: Ormanjhi
The backside of Rukka Dam which is full of water in every season is named as Mini Goa of Ranchi. The panoramic view of this location feels like Goa, that’s why YouTubers and Instagram influencers named it Mini Goa of Ranchi.
If you are planning to go for a picnic near Ranchi, then this location is one of the best on my list.
Here you can spend your time in the water and Saal forest.
There are some roadside hotels where you can order to prepare lunch and go there with lunch and your tent and spend your time in the lap of this soothing water.
You will also find a private boat service to go to the island located a few meters from the dam’s bank. With minimal charge, you can enjoy having your lunch on the boat, which feels like heaven.
To reach Mini of Goa Ranchi you have to head onto Ranchi Ramgarh NH 33 and turn right from Ormanjhi, then turn right before Anandi village. It is located almost 30 km from Ranchi town.
